Inventing worlds

Projects

Live shows

Collaborating with live musicians is the ultimate experience for a dance artist. In this series I have compiled videos from rehearsals and live shows, where most of the time I am just actively listening: connecting dance sequences I have from my own repertoire, in the flow of improvisation. This project is not so much about choreography, but nesting of ideas in real time practice. I am so humbled and thankful to Tato and his band for inviting me to jam along with my dance.

A Kali, mi Madre – Dance poem for a screen dress at my backyard

Inspired on the poem by Rafael Alberti

Dancing in Nature – Catalunya

Interview for Caesurae Org, India.

Jayita Sengupta: What “stories” that you mentioned to once regarding this project, are choreographed in the dance?

Adriana: Great question! We found this tunnel/cave by chance while we were actually going to another site of interest. In this region of Catalonia in northern Spain, you blink and you are surprised with the most spectacular views of fortresses and castles. There is a legend in this particular county that supposedly took place during the Spanish re-conquest. It’s called the “Legend of the Bushes that walk”: the splendid Fortress of Mur was the center of the Moorish domination in the Tremp basin…
